My name is Nisha Sadekar, and I am a Golf Entrepreneura. My passion is to use everyday trends, fashion and culture to inspire women to be the best that they can be, and it just so happens that I play golf. Through the game of golf, I have traveled the world and have made friendships that will last a lifetime, I want that for you too! I introduce women to a “Golf Lifestyle” through my programs, articles and partnerships at Play Golf Designs Inc.
Growing up in a small town outside of Toronto, Canada, I started playing golf at age 12. I was fortunate to attend two years at The IMG Sports Academy, where I trained with the best athletes in the world. I went on to the University of Missouri, on a full golf scholarship, where as Captain of the Women’s Golf Team. I arranged team charitable events, was part of the NCAA Student Athletic Advisory Council, and designed our team uniforms. Today, my MIZZOU team spirit inspires my business and personal goals, those were some of the best years of my life.
Growing up, I thought that golf was an individual sport, but looking back, there was always great people surrounding me. Golf, as in life, you need people around you that support and believe in you. Even though you are swinging the club, you must find that positive and supportive team as a foundation for growth.
With the foundation of family and friends that I’ve made during my professional golf career, I started a small boutique golf business on February 14th, 2006, Play Golf Designs Inc. My passion was always, and still is, to grow the game for women. As I got deeper into business and events, I moved further away personally from competitive golf, but found myself still inspired by the game and other women playing the game. I was having more fun with golf than in my professional days. I wasn’t taking the game so “personally”, but rather enjoying the beauty of it and understanding why I made time for it. Women were asking me how I kept my game strong while running a business. I realized that it was because the game of golf was a passion, not a job. Golf was a part of my life that took me away from the real world to focus on my mind, my body, making new friends, strengthening business relationships while maintaining a healthy lifestyle.
The game of golf gives women life lessons and values that are nowhere to be found in the real world.
I soon recognized that the core vision of my business was to revolutionize not only how women play the game, but the way they see and feel the game. By integrating fashion, fitness, glamor, entertainment and experience, women could finally understand how golf relates to them. With all the things that women enjoy, golf is a natural lifestyle fit. Golf can easily integrate into a woman’s life… if she only knew what it had to offer.
I now reside in Las Vegas and have been blessed with my former touring professional days on the LPGA Futures and Canadian Tours, as the experiences made have lead me to where I am today. My passion for business is driven by a strong desire to make golf fun and rewarding for women.
